Spring 2018 titles include Gestalten's Space Kids for younger readers, A Brief Illustrated History of Life (Raintree), lots more dinosaurs (obviously), and touching animal diaries written by Barn Owl and Honeybee.

Books out in 2017 included Killer Dinosaurs explaining many new discoveries and the science behind them, and a global look at the geography, wildlife and human impacts of Oceans and Seas.

Recent releases also include two of my biggest books ever, the immense Medicine: The Definitive lllustrated History (DK) and the infographic spectacular BODY: The Graphic Book of Us (Aurum). Other recent titles included two further books in the KS1/2 Journey Through...Nature, Weather with eminent illustrator John Haslam (QED), plus several KS1/2 titles on Weather, Butterflies, Robots and others.

School visits and other workshops have been revamped for 2018 to include the above new titles, with many new ideas and projects. Of course old favourites remain, including nature and animals, core sciences such as light, sound, electricity and materials, space, the Earth and much more. Bookings now being taken for Spring and Summer Terms 2018.

2017 was busy, fun and enjoyable. I was pleased to visit about 20 schools and hold events as far apart as Newcastle, with the Books on Tyne Festival, and a tiny primary school near Swindon.

From a school near Norwich:

"Thank you for a fabulous day. I had positive feedback from all teachers, they enjoyed how interactive it was and the sessions were very relevant."

Other comments:

"The visit was a great success and has shown staff ways in which we could use author visits to inspire reading and writing in the future … Steve's assembly chat engaged all of the children in the school … They still talk about the visit."

"We thoroughly enjoyed your visit and I received lots of positive feedback so THANK YOU!"

The DK title Kill or Cure entered the New York Times Top 10 Bestsellers. Great news. Later it also won the British Medical Association Book Award for Public Understanding of Science. Also great news!

Science Crazy title (QED) won the Information Book Award from the School Library Association. Also Fizzing Physics won the Hampshire Information Book Award.
